    JOSHI

    Joe Montoya [they/he] is a NYC-based Mexican actor, writer, composer, and graduate of Pace University’s BFA Musical Theatre program. Originally from Los Angeles, they made the move to NYC and have worked steadily in theater, concert, and film. Select Film: Group (North Film Festival 2023), The Hosts (Newfest 2022), Via Dolorosa. Select Theater: Tobias in Sweeney Todd (Hangar Theater), Crutchie in Newsies! (Arena Stage), Our Own Odyssey (FuerzaFest NYC). As a playwright, Montoya's comedic take on Greek myth, Orpheus Was an A-hole! received a Proteus Project reading with Turn to Flesh Productions and was later adapted into an independent miniseries. On the horizon: they are currently developing a forthcoming musical in collaboration with Chris Rivera serving as librettist/lyricist based on Rivera’s Our Own Odyssey.     Mary Beth Peil is an Obie Award-winning, two-time Tony Award-nominated actress who has made careers from opera to stage and screen. A winner of Metropolitan National Auditions, she sang leading roles with Metropolitan National Company, NY City Opera, and Young Concert Artists, among many others. As an Ensemble member of Atlantic Theater Company, she has appeared in Harper Regan, Dying For It, Missing Persons, Frame 312, The Room, and Threepenny Opera. On Broadway: The King and I (opposite Yul Brynner), Nine, Sunday in the Park with George, Women on The Verge, Follies, Liaisons Dangereuses, The Visit, and Anastasia. On TV: Dawson's Creek (Grams), The Good Wife (Jackie Florick), Halston (Martha Graham), L&O: SVU, The Fringe. On film: Song Of Sway Lake, Mirrors, Flags of Our Fathers, Odd Couple 2, Stepford Wives 2, and soon to be released: Jimmy And Caroline, The Home, and Phyllis Silenced.

    Broadway: Fiddler on the Roof directed by Bartlett Sher. Tess just disembarked the Disney Magic as their Broadway Guest Artist playing Mother Gothel in Tangled: The Musical. Off-Broadway: Einstein's Dreams at 59E59 (Prospect Theater Company). Regionally, Tess originated the role of Mother in Kooman & Dimond's musical The Enlightenment of Percival Von Schmootz (Adirondack Theatre Festival), and starred as Emma Carew in Jekyll & Hyde at North Shore Music Theatre. Tess is the Co-Founder of Broadway From Home, and has an in-person and virtual coaching studio for acting/vocal students.
